Mini 15: Revenge of the Cornet

Welcome, one and all, to Mini 15! This game differs slightly from ones run before in that the setup is known in its entirety, putting the emphasis onto skillful play and taking away the usefulness of speculation on the set up. To continue with this theme, here are all of the role PMs, and results PMs for cops!

    The setup

1 x Mafia Godfather (appears good to cops, no other special abilities)
    2 x Mafia Goons
1 x Joker / Joker (will either be a standard Serial Killer or Vigilante, 50/50 random selection when the roles are sent out)
1 x Competent Cop (always gets the right results, except in the case of the Godfather)
1 x Incompetent Cop (always gets random results, determined by a coin flip)
    1 x Doctor
    5 x Townie

    The role PMs

<x>, <y> and <z>, you are the Mafia! <x>, you are the Mafia Godfather and the cops will get results as though you were a townie. <y> and <z>, you are standard Mafia Goons and have no special abilities.

Each night, PM me with your choice of who you wish to kill; you may choose not to kill if you wish. You win if the Joker is eliminated, at least one mafia member survives, and there are at least as many mafia as town members alive.

I will flip a coin to decide if the Joker is good or evil when I send out roles. The Joker will get whichever of these PMs is applicable:

You are the Joker. Each night, PM me with your choice of who you wish to kill; you may choose not to kill if you wish. You win if you are the last one standing.

You are the Joker. Each night, PM me with your choice of who you wish to kill; you may choose not to kill if you wish. You win if the mafia are eliminated and at least one town member survives.

This PM goes out to both cops:

You are a Cop. Each night, PM me with your choice of investigation target and I will tell you the results of your investigation. You win if all evil killers are eliminated and at least one town member survives.

The cops will receive one of the following PMs each night, with the PM title "Mini 15 Night <x> results":

You conclude that <x> is good.

You conclude that <x> is evil.

When either cop dies it will NOT be revealed which cop they were. Should they wish to, a cop can choose to investigate themself, in which case their investigation will go through like any other. Cops can also choose to skip their night action, in which case they will receive nothing from the mod.

You are the Doctor. Each night, PM me with your choice of who to protect, and you will negate up to one attempt on their life. You win if all evil killers are eliminated and at least one town member survives.

Neither the Doctor, victim nor killer will be informed if the Doctor successfully protected their target.

You are a Townie. You have no night choices. You win if all evil killers are eliminated and at least one town member survives.

Everyone is loving the big funny joke.

All roles have now been sent out - please PM me if you haven't received yours! Thus it is NIGHT 1. I am deadlining this first night loosely, for five days hence, to give everyone chance to notice the game has started and for the mafia to talk. The current deadline will always appear in the first post along with who's dead, etc.

Start sending your choices in :)

The sun pops over the horizon, and everyone gathers in the town square for the day's discussion. Everyone, that is, except for Haug and Thalasso whose bodies are found, bloodied and still slightly warm, in their respective homes.

    Haug was a Townie.
    Thalasso was a Mafia Goon.

It is now DAY 1. Ten of you are alive, so six votes are need for a lynch.

Day is deadlined for a week from now with no lynch at deadline, but you may vote to extend it - a majority vote for an extension will extend the deadline by a further three days, and clear the extension vote list. Vote for extensions like this: Vote extension, Unvote extension.

    Start talking and voting!

Also, seeing as Thalasso is dead, we probably have a sk... this is going to be a short game! Joker, you farked up! If you had kept your head down you could have claimed to be a vig!

    Woohoo!

I'm not up for an extension off the bat. If there is discussion near deadline, I'll vote to extend it then.

The joker did botch it, it may be worth it to think about who would make such a mistake (double-think aside). I'm not ready to place weight on it, but I'll keep it in my mind.

    I'll random vote Sleffie.

    Hello.

I don't think at this point we can definately say we have a SK, maybe we just have a trigger-happy vigilante:)

    Vote Hi Colonic mwahahaha.

    Random vote glamdring!

I think we have a serial killer. It wouldn't be good for a vigilante to kill on night 1 since they would have no clue of who is a baddie and who isn't. And since there are more good guys than bad guys in a game you'd have a bigger chance of screwing up than getting a baddie.

Well they may have buggered things up from their own role claiming point of view, but whoever the Joker is they certainly did us a favour!

Although I wouldn't say we *definitely* know they're a sk, could be a trigger happy vig ;)

    Still, good shot either way.
no random voting just yet from me ;)

I don't really think it's that big of a deal. I figure the joker actually helped themselves a great deal. True, we now know that they are a SK (hopefully - otherwise we have a crazy vig on our hands.), but we would have known that anyway if we had gotten rid of the three mafia members and then realized the game still wasn't over.

As it is, a SK is really on the town's side at the beginning. If they kill off townies, then the mafia has a clear shot at winning, drawing closer to the majority on a daily basis. No, a SK should go after mafia members to start. They're his/her biggest threat.

    Non-random OMGUS vote: Mono

I thought about it for a bit. I think it need not necessarily be a stupid SK (because I don't think any of the players here would make that kind of mistake really).
I have seen enough instances where someone is killed/lynched just because they are not liked for some reason.
I think this could very well have happened here.

If it was the vigilante then, I would ask that you do not kill unless you are amazingly sure of yourself. This time you were lucky, but I'd rather not risk the towns chances for winning by trusting on that luck.

Of course it could be an SK too. Either one who isnt up for mindgames and merely wants to enjoy shooting people, or someone who IS interested in playing mindgames and is trying to double-triple and whatever bluff his way through here.
    I guess we'll see.

No random vote from me either.

And dubya, I suppose you voted me merely for being first on the list, right?

Well that, and the fact that you keep winning RAF. And for the way you completely zapped me in your RAF. Plus you've been silent, although no way I could have known that when I said it, could I? :)

Like I said, with two active killing groups, plus lynches, this could be a very short game. It could end as soon as day 3. We should definitely tread cautiously.

I remind you that you wanted to be zapped, more or less. :P

About the silent, I don't know, there's only been 11 posts before me, so that's more of a joke. :P
Especially considering others haven't posted at all yet.

If you mean in my past mafia games, yes, but I intend not to be this time, since La Paloma so nicely encouraged me to be opinionated. :) I'm interested to see whether this will work out.

Aha! So you admit your vote wasn't random at all!? :D

Anyway, theoretically the game could be over by night 3 (the night before day 3). But for that to happen everything has to go wrong.

I think the conclusion we have a SK is flawed. It could be a Vigilante. Both roles allow for killing on night one. Either way, he or she's done the town a favour.

I'm in the middle of a sales meeting, and this simply doesn't look enough like data for me to type any more, so no random vote, and no further posts until about 24hours time.

Sounds like a mightly long meeting. You don't let them leave until you've gotten the agreement you want? :)

Sounds like a interesting place. lock you in the meeting until you agree to buy something :D.

I think we would have an SK as I'm pretty sure a vigilante wouldn't kill on night one.
