What's more fun than not making anything? That's right, making something!
We thought this would be something fun we could do together. Once every two weeks we'd get a theme, and everyone has two weeks to make something on the theme. It can be a game, a movie, a drawing, a photo, a story, a haiku, a song, anything really. The two weeks is just an arbitrary number, we could have it shorter or longer, but I thought two weeks would be a good number to start us off.
I was thinking we could start right now, and any creations could be posted in this thread as soon as you're done with it.
The theme is buildings. Houses, skyscrapers, cities, bricks, bricks and more bricks! Buildings all the way!
So, who's up for some creative fun? ![]()
I'm in for this! Photography be my category, please! ![]()
I wish I had a category. Guess I have two weeks to get really good at something. ![]()
At least you don't have two weeks to make a game.
(And that's just at work! ho ho ho...)
hmm sounds interesting ![]()

The brick boy says: Make something, it's easy!

One week to go! I hope you're all busy making fun little things to show off!
Okay, so I kind of have an excuse. I wanted to play around with Buzz Machines this weekend and make a little track, but I was a bit short on time, and learning how the whole thing worked took a bit of time. And I was at this Spencer Tunick photoshoot, so I was a bit tired (read: sleeping) Sunday.
So anyway, besides that first image I made (which I was actually quite happy with), Wallsy is the only one who's posted anything. Did anyone else make anything? And if not, why not? Was it a good idea, or not? Should we do another one with a new theme? What about the two weeks, not enough time?
Have your say. Remember, this is a small forum, everyone's opinions matter.
I would've done something, but I only just noticed the thread because I've been too slack at checking the forum recently. ![]()
I think it was a great idea, but I personally would only post something to it if I'd already made something / make something in future that fitted the theme. For example, if I ever get around to writing some code to generate buildings or cities I'll post some screenshots or a little program in this thread, even if it's years from now ![]()
I've just been super slack and busy at the same time. I know. I suck at this.
Oh wait. I think I have a photo I took a while ago that is pretty neat. Taken on a shite camera too...

"Progression"
1800s type sandstone column that is one exact nautical mile from where it is in North Sydney to I think Goat Island in Sydney Harbour.
1970s type concrete box style construction
2004 stylish glass and steel design of building.
I took this about 3 years ago, I admit, but it's the first thing that came to mind. ![]()
that reminds me of this photo my dad took

So, what do we do? Would anyone make anything if we did another one?
I'd be in again. Would give me an excuse to get out and photograph something.
pace is the trick.I have internets again now, so I could take a stab at the creativity schtick! ![]()
Well, I'm up for doing another one. Any thoughts on how we should do things, just some general theme, and then just let everyone come up with their own things from there?
