It seemed like a subtle change to start with. Things just seemed easier. Things were lighter, flimsier, closer together. When Old Mrs. Sanders (83) pushed a young would-be mugger through a wall, people started to wonder. When young Jimmy Baxter (5) beat the world 100m record, the government stepped in and the road was sealed off.
Some people said it must have been something in the water. Some people said that it must have been in the air, because it seemed to affect everyone.
Some people didn't say anything at all, on account of being dead.
Yes, some time after the curfews and the cordons and the quarantine, bodies started turning up. Nobody on the outside would come in to help, so residents came up with their own methods. Number one priority: survival.

Hi Colonic: In a game run by Carmine, with 9 people, how many killing groups would you expect there to be? Mono: 10The Rules:
Roles are out. Please let me know if you can't see your role or if you can see other people's roles.
Send in your night choices as soon as possible please! You may either email them to me jinnantonnix at g mail dot com, or whisper them. If you're whispering in the thread, please be ultra-careful ![]()
Hello everyone! I am in the south of France at the moment, but all the choices are now in so I will endeavour to clock the day over sometime today.
I'm so sad^H^H^H dedicated.
Hi Colonic: In a game run by Carmine, with 9 people, how many killing groups would you expect there to be? Mono: 10The sun is out, the sky is blue, there's nothing there to spoil the view... except the dead body, of course.
As everyone makes their way to a discussion table in the middle of the street (set up specially for this occasion), someone trips over something lying in the gutter. On closer inspection, it would appear to be the crumpled body of Lacero, rather lacking in vital signs. A search of his body reveals a small government-stamped card, which reads:
Lacero, you have been identified as having developed the further unusual abilities:
* Uncanny ability to detect motive
* Unnatural proficiency in healing
You are hereby confined to your current location.
followed by some meaningless legalese. It would seem that Lacero had been blessed (or cursed) with some kind of doctor and investigative abilities, which probably would have been advantageous. Oh well.
With eight players alive, a majority of five will secure a lynch.
Hi Colonic: In a game run by Carmine, with 9 people, how many killing groups would you expect there to be? Mono: 10... hrm. A few thoughts that brings to mind immediately:
[1] As always, I use the phrase "killing group" to include groups of one, also known as SKs.
Just checking in. Yeah, some weird roles wouldn't surprise me, Carmine usually does crazy things, right?
Question for the mod: Do we have any deadlines or similar?
Longest (and suckiest) Night 1 ever! I'm guessing that there has to be numerous split roles like his. Otherwise, the baddies being able to kill off the doc/cop all in one shot would be really overpowered for them. But I'd also surmise, as Araltaln pointed out, that there are some sanity issues. That is about the only balance if there are multiple cops or docs. And the government issued card seem to suggest that he had the power...so sanity would seem the right flip for it. I'm not positive about the lack of more than one killing group, though. It looks that way, but I'd wait til the next death to see if anything differs at all, before leaping to that conclusion.
Anyhow, Vote Araltaln for being the first to post, the first to use their logic, and the first to suggest a lack of SK or other killer. (And of course, it's mostly random.)
Supa-green!So, to expand on my first post a bit, yeah, crazy roles. It would surprise me greatly if everything is totally vanilla except that instead of one cop and one doc we have just one copdoc. Mainly because it would be really sucky for town. I'd expect at least one other copdoc or one with a doc/something and someone else with a cop/something role. And because it's Carmine, and I believe she likes to mess with people, I think she might have done more craziness, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
As for killing groups I feel I'd be guessing even more than with the cop/doc roles. With the (possible) crazy roles, there's no telling what we have against us.
Well that really sucks... Would anyone have had a particular reason to go for lacero? argh gotta work
more soon!
If we don't have other players with Doc and Cop abilities then the situation looks rather grim. But if townies can have multiple abilities then I suspect the same is true for the Mafia.
1000 miles from the chimera I chase...Damn, meant to only hit the Preview Button. Anyway, at this point I suspect both high-powered good-guys and bad-guys, and shall randomly vote James for standing me up for Sunday Night Drinks. ![]()
Meanie!
Is everyone proposing multiple abilities because description of Lacero's abilities?
I know that it seems like a kind of dumb question, but given that the more experienced players have all said Carmine does crazy things, is it possible that only one of the roles could be a dual role?
(Note: I am ignoring LP's pathetic reason for voting me).
Normal is an illusionAnswering this one in the thread, so that everyone knows:
There is no deadline to this day yet.
I reserve the right to impose deadlines if/when I feel they're needed... ![]()
James:Is everyone proposing multiple abilities because description of Lacero's abilities?
Well, it's not set in stone, but I think it's worth taking the possibility into account, because there's got to be something balancing up the risk of losing two powerful roles in one go.
I have a cold and my brain's not working... But I'm checking in so you know I'm here and kind of paying attention ![]()
Hopefully I will have something less random (or at least random but more game related) to contribute tomorrow.
Kiss me! - I have awesome powers!Checking in, but the family are demanding I get off the PC. More later/tomorrow.
James, I know Mono already answered you, but just to add, since I know you're new to this and probably haven't seen a game by Carmine before. Carmine is also the Queen of the Fun Yet Terribly Twisty Crazy Games. That's why the signups were full of people jumping to get in a Carmine-run game. She never disappoints with the twists and turns and just the general fun! So that is another reason we are assuming there are many multi-roles, or something of the like.
Supa-green!Well, looks like everyone has checked in. vote Hi Colonic for being the last one to check in. You're a lurking piece of scum, aren't you!? Admit it!
Thanks Mono and Jozline for clearing that up. It makes sense that there would be more than one dual role - but I do like to question everything!
