    Hello everybody!

Today's patient is an interesting case; he is displaying acute schizophrenic disorder with no fewer than twelve distinct personalities, each of whom have come to represent a significant part of his personality. The drugs don't work (they just make it worse), so we need you to oversee the patient's direct pyschotherapy sessions in an attempt to excise his demons.

Be careful! The patient is extremely fragile and pushing him in the wrong direction may result in a complete and total breakdown.

    Current status
Game over - Anger mafia wins on Day 4!

    Personalities
Hi Colonic - Self-loathing (Unkillable Anger Mafia), survived
Daegul - Seething Rage (Undetectable Anger Mafia), survived

    Psychoanalysed Away
    Serenity - Indecisiveness (Role-delayer), lynched Day 1
Carmine - Assertiveness (Doctor), killed Night 2
Dubya - Impatience (Townie), lynched Day 2
Feloris - Introspection (Cop), killed Night 3
    tick - Obsession (Vote-storer), killed Night 3
Haug - Haunting Memories (Unkillable Depression Mafia), lynched Day 3
James - Creativity (Townie), killed Night 4
spookybeth - Torment (Undetectable Depression Mafia), lynched Day 4
etain - Fear (Townie), killed in end-game
Locxa - Compassion (Townie), killed in end-game

    Case Files
    Day 1: Start / End
    Day 2: Start / End
    Day 3: Start / End
    Day 4: Start / End

Roles were assigned randomly thanks to the mighty power of randomizer.org. Standard rules apply, with the exception that I will allow mod-quoting. To help the baddies out, here are sample claims for a plain townie and a townie with a night action:

You are Some type of personality facet. <Some blurb about what part of the patient’s personality you are>. You have no night actions.

You win when the patient is no longer at risk of a nervous breakdown. Clearly, the more of the patient’s personality that remains, the better!

You are Some type of personality facet. <Some blurb about what part of the patient’s personality you are>. Each night, you must send me a PM with the name of another player, <role-specific info>.

You win when the patient is no longer at risk of a nervous breakdown. Clearly, the more of the patient’s personality that remains, the better!

Everyone is loving the big funny joke.

From the notes of Dr. Dokter:

    Posted By: Dr Dokter

I have met with the patient for an evaluation session prior to his therapy program, and am thoroughly convinced that we have caught a man on the brink of a nervous breakdown - indeed, even now the first session cannot be scheduled soon enough. I am hopeful that our sessions will lead us to the cause of this man's problems, but I fear that he may very well respond badly to therapy if not handled with the utmost care, accelerating his emotional collapse.

Our first session is tomorrow morning; then we will see the true extent of the problems before us.

It is Night 1 - no talking to other players (unless instructed otherwise by your role desc)! If you have any night actions, then please PM me with your choices - otherwise sit tight and wait for everyone else. Night 1 has no deadline yet, though I hope it's not going to drag on for more than a few days.

If anyone has any questions, drop me a PM. I will be Happy To Oblige (tm).

Everyone is loving the big funny joke.

To my great relief, when the patient arrived for his first session he appeared, superficially at least, to be suffering from no ill effects. I invited him to lie down on the couch, which he cheerfully did, and we began our discussion...

No one is dead, everyone is still alive. Oh, happy day!

It is Day 1. You may all start talking and arguing and all that jazz. With 12 people alive, one would be reasonable in assuming that 7 votes would be needed for a lynch.

Everyone is loving the big funny joke.

Rah, no deaths. Good morning to all other facets of personality :)

    This concerns me:

Be careful! The patient is extremely fragile and pushing him in the wrong direction may result in a complete and total breakdown.

as I cannot decide if it is just flavoursome fluff or some sort of Dire Warning.

Maybe it's too early to start analysing the mod :P

Hi Colonic: In a game run by Carmine, with 9 people, how many killing groups would you expect there to be? Mono: 10

I would assume that's just flavour. A what happens if we lose, sort of thing.

Yep, I think that might be more flavor...game over when there's just bad stuff left.
What mainly concerned me is part of the role description:

You win when the patient is no longer at risk of a nervous breakdown. Clearly, the more of the patient’s personality that remains, the better!

As in, does that mean we have limited time or somesuch stuff? Will it all be over should we be reduced to a certain number? Probably no use guessing about these things, I just wondered whether anyone had the same idea or I'm just...a little...paranoid.
Actually, thinking about it, it does seem a little unlikely, as that would make it impossible for the mafia to win, sort of...hm. So yeah, I'm just thinking aloud I guess...

Right, I also had this other weird idea - since it says "Psychoanalysed Away", I wondered whether there would never be any kills, and the mafia had the hard job of having to work by clever convincing to make us lynch each other. However, that's pretty likely to just be another of my completely unrealistic thoughts. :P

    Hello!
I am new (and rather scared, did you know this game is scary to new people? maybe you do, maybe did once and have since forgotten. Maybe your cold reptilian haste has forced all other emotion from your memory... But the point of the story was that I had an onion tied to belt, which was the fashion at the time. It was a brown onion because it was the depression, we didn't have any of those white onions. That was back in nineteen-dickety-two... :) )

Um... right, anyway: I was asleep. Now I am awake. I am going to vote for James because she has a day job and I don't Vote James :D

Kiss me! - I have awesome powers!

    Yes. AT LAST.

So, not deaths which is excellent, but also likely to be fuel for discussion later. Looking at Carmine's question and Dasquian's safe role claims for bad guys bit, I think the answer is it's a bit of flavour. I suspect it means when the bad guys are equal to the good guys, or better off, the game is over. I may be wrong, but that's my reading of it.

As for a vote, Spookybeth, feel some early pressure. You're Mafia, and you should die.

    Enjoy your game.

For real? That sounds like something that's not a random vote.

No, entirely random, except for the bit about picking on newbies. Nowt else.

Tbh, I read that as something to watch out for, but not something we can work on right now.

I make it Dubya, Haug and James who are yet to post.
    Is that right?
    That's pretty good for a page 1 :)

No, I'm nowt. And I'd rather not, please.
In other news, Hi Colonic is mean and he tastes like soot and poo! :P

It's ok for me to pick on the other newbie because I know her personally, and I don't expect anyone else to vote for her purely on the grounds that she has a day job :)

Just because you know me personally, hey?

What to do? what to wear?? Like the spooky one, I am fumbling in the dark here.

Should I pick on vote <spookybeth>" in a childish tit for tat OR

Randomly pick on some complete stranger?

While I ponder - interesting that the patient superficially appears to be okay. Wondering if he is one of this cope by denying there is a problem types that requires a pushy therapist or if, once he's on the couch, he'll spill like a big overful spilly thing.

I shall vote for..."vote <Daegul>". Curious to see if your hamster thing EVER explodes. It looks like it's going to any second now.

    Normal is an illusion

    Hey everyone, our first vote-count!

    tick - 1 (Daegul)
    James - 1 (spookybeth)
    spookybeth - 1 (James)

With 12 alive, it's probably 7 to lynch.

I'm going to take this early stage in the proceedings to be a bit (well, lot) anal, to avoid me needing to make any game-critical judgment calls when it makes a difference...

    - HC and Haug, I didn't count your votes on spookybeth and Hi Colonic because you didn't actually vote - I won't be counting votes/unvotes unless the vote/unvote is bolded as well as the name.
    - James, you did exactly the opposite :) You did "officially" vote for spookybeth, so I counted that, which meant that when you voted Daegul I didn't accept it because you hadn't unvoted first. Also, you don't need the pointy brackets ;)

    Anyway, carry on!

Everyone is loving the big funny joke.
