I asked for 1 week days in the other thread, that still stands for me.
I agree that that was a little off from what mine would be as well. A 2 week no posting kick? If you go a whole week without posting I think that shows disinterest enough to be kicked, myself. (or too busy a schedule, etc.)
I didn't think he was being serious...
Supa-green!Currently, if we start with 9 people, I'm thinking the sweet spot will be 4 days for night 1, 2 weeks for day 1, 3 days for later nights, 10 days for later days. I would, of course, love to see these end before their deadlines.
Also, keep in mind these deadlines are non-negotiable once the game actually starts; requests for extensions will be ignored. Being a little conservative might be wise, at least to start ![]()
Finally, since we're on a new page, I'll say it again: signups will close at the end of this week, and we will start regardless of how many players we have.
I'm the doctor.
plz don't lynch me!

The end of which week? I'm defecting tomorrow sometime. I have a little more time on the weekend and also (no offense intended, Araltaln) don't really like the idea of imposed deadlines before they're needed that are just cut-offs for the day no matter where we are in discussion. It could be interesting, and if it starts tomorrow, I will definitely stay and try one like that, but I don't really like the idea, unless there's like a Theme Reason, or I dunno...anyhow, just checking!
BUMP!
Supa-green!In theory, I meant now. In practice, I mean about ten hours from now (Sunday morning, local time), when I am lucid enough to plug my computer back in and send out all the pre-written PMs.
I understand the pre-imposed deadlines thing may not sound like the best option to everyone; it is, quite frankly, an experiment. If it fails horribly, well, then we know. If it means we no longer have scum asking themselves "well, who besides us is lurking horribly?" when scumhunting with nightkills, well, then we know that too. Besides, I like experiments, as those who tried to play Death by Chocolate may recall ;p
Sounds good to me!
Out of curiosity...do we have email on the site? Or just this whisper stuff? Because whisper doesn't seem too...stable...I'm guessing that if we don't have PMs here, we use regular email for mafia correspondance?
Supa-green!There's no emailing system. You can make your email address visible on your account page if you want (account page is visible only to logged-in members), I guess. Otherwise there's the whispers, which of course only work if you remember filling in a name of a recipient. What can work is that the mod starts a whispered discussion to each of the players, because a discussion that is started as a whisper can only contain whispers and there's no risk of anyone else seeing it.
I've been thining about writing some code so that when a mafia game thread is closed (for nights) people can still post, but that those post are then automatically made into whispers to the mod.
Right, I'm in the middle of internet problems (Vote: Mother Nature), but since I can successfully connect sometimes, I'm gonna see about getting things sent out now.
Oh, goody. I've sent everything out, but as far as I can tell, it's all broken :p I get:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /nfsn/content/scene/htdocs/library/Vanilla/Vanilla.Functions.php on line 30
Whenever I try to view one of the ones I've sent out, or, indeed, anything marked [Private] currently. :p It worked when I was mafia, why can't it work when I'm mod? ![]()
Thread later, in any event, I've gotta run.
Hrm. Weirdness. Don't worry I'll fix it! SOMEHOW!
Edit: I fixed it.
Awesomeness. Now, for a thread...
